“This is BuyCrash. I was calling to find out about your accident…”
That’s how the call started. But it wasn’t BuyCrash. It was a runner. They said they were a “personal injury advocate from the medical and legal department.” They said a paralegal would be calling next. They said they’d refer the injured person to one of their “in-house” doctors.
Every word of it? A lie.
- BuyCrash doesn’t call accident victims.
- They don’t refer to lawyers.
- And they sure as hell don’t have a “medical and legal department.”
This is fraud, plain and simple.
It’s illegal solicitation. It’s deceptive and predatory. And in many cases, it’s tied to outright medical fraud.
Yes, some of the people they sign up might be legitimately injured. But the way they get those clients? It’s unethical. It’s illegal. And it’s a threat to the public.
It’s also stealing from honest lawyers: those of us who follow the rules, who wait for clients to come to us, and who put in the work to earn their trust and get them justice.
If you’re a lawyer and you know this is happening: speak up. If you’re a potential client: don’t fall for it.
We don’t need more fake “advocates.” We need accountability.
